7.7 Papers of the Membership and Probationary Committees 1980 – 1998
The Membership Committee is tasked with running the interview process for admission to the Society, and is also the body which conducts membership proceedings to allow probationary members to cross-over into regular membership. The Probationary Committee is tasked with carrying out the necessary duties to ensure that the Society’s probationary members– i.e. those who pass through the initial interview stage– are equipped to meet the requirements needed to pass into regular membership. This box contains items such as lists of probationary members, a letter to the Probationary Chair about short story presentations from 1985, and documentation of probationary members’ debate topics.
