Articles on Harry Clemons’ and Howard Y. Williams’ Speeches (1936)

This collection of articles, published in 1936, describe two key speeches which took place in Jefferson Hall that year. The first speech, entitled “Tentative Plans for a New Library”, was presented by University Librarian Harry Clemons at one of the Society’s Friday evening meetings (though attendance was open to all interested students and the general public). The second talk was given by Howard Y. Williams, a notable lecturer, writer, and debater hailing from Minnesota, who addressed the topic, “Do We Need a New Party in 1936?”.

The small clipping near the bottom of the frame briefly lists new initiates to the Jefferson Society as of February 1936.
