Newcomb Resolution (1933)
This resolution, presented before the Jefferson Society on Friday, September 29th, 1933, states the Society’s collective support for the appointment of Dr. John Lloyd Newcomb to the position of President of the University of Virginia after the sudden death of Dr. Edwin Anderson Alderman left the position vacant twenty-nine months prior.
