“The Odyssey of Jeff” (1936 – 1937)

This humorous account of the Society’s goings-on from 1936 -1937 is introduced with an address written in rhymed verse beginning, “Oh Muse, once more we meet…” and goes on to briefly lay out various happenings within the Society, such as the membership’s complaints over the $3 initiation fees and the election of new leadership.

Additionally, written here is a song entitled “Song of the Marching Jeffmen” which begins as follows: “Oh, Jeff traditions still survive, and Robert’s Rules endure; // Oh-h-h, our strength is as the strength of five, Because our hearts are pure!”

On a more serious note, these meeting minutes also include a farewell speech given by Mr. Tabor, who concludes with the following remarks: “Jeff is not dead, it never has been moribund, it has been, is and can continue to be a vital and worthwhile force in the life of the University.”
